Job 33:17
because the pride of evil men
Why do you contend with Him?
For He does not give an accounting of any of His words. For God may
speak in one way , or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In
a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While
slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their
instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man,
He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Psalms 59:12
let them be taken in their pride
For the sin of their mouth and
the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, and from
the cursing and lying which they speak.
Proverbs 8:13

all the multitude to Himself, He said to them," Hear me every one, and
understand: "There is nothing that enters a man from the outside which
can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things
that defile a man. "If anyone has ears to hear let him hear!"
When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him
concerning the parable. So he said to them,"Are you thus without
understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from
outside cannot defile him, "because it does not enter his heart but his
stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" And He said
"what comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out
of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, and evil eye, blasphemy,
pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a
man"

weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
1 Peter 5:5
for God resisteth the proud, and
Likewise you younger people
submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one
another, and be clothed with humility, for: " God resists the proud
but gives grace to the humble." Therefore humble yourselves under
the mighty hand of God , that He may exalt you in due time. Casting all
your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour.
