Revenge-Vengeance

Vengeance: The act of causing harm to another in retribution for a wrong or an injury.

How can there be a god who would allow such enormous atrocities to take place, such as a little girl being kidnapped, sexually assaulted and killed?

The question of God's existence, due to the atrocities of this world.  Of the many which have existed due to sin in war and in times of so called peace.  It is almost un-thinkable that a good and righteous god could exist during these times.

Danielle Van Dam - A child from a Christian family.  Who could think that this child being one of God's own.  Would or could fall prey to a predator.  The Host of "America's Most Wanted" likely lost his son under similar circumstances.

The list of sins which lead to death don't start here nor end here; but I am hard pressed to think of a sin worse than this.  And my heart is ripped out in grief for any parent or child who has had to endure such horrible treatment.

Some sexual predators themselves, once caught and imprisoned, advised their captors to castrate them, for they could not control their behavior, and feared of returning to this course of action.

Sin begins with the eye, envy.  Is mixed in with temptation, evil principalities and powers that fight for this world and this age in a fight to the death.  Sin begins at low degrees, and ever increases in its attraction and its degree of evilness.

Just as drug users start with wine, and alcohol.  Then add cigarettes.  These were small steps, almost hardly to have been seen as pointing in the wrong direction.  Yet they provided the easy connection to try smoking drugs, or taking pills.  Ever increasing steps in the wrong direction, yet steps not that large after all.  So what's so wrong from here to eat something that will get you high, even though there is a small risk of my uncontrollable behavior or physical and mental damage.  So, when I pull up my shirt sleeve to take that injection.  Is it so hard for you to understand?  Its the only thing I have left, to help me cope with this reality.  A false reality, one clouded with my pride, Satan's lies, and my world which has no love.  From here I  see no way back, I don't fully understand my footing except for the lack of it.  And, the understanding that this world is bad, and I am no worse than any other who is trying to get his as I live through it.

Love - Lust, What's the difference.  My eye saw.  I wanted.  We experimented.  We had pre-marriage sex.  What's wrong with that.  Are we not man and woman and made to eventually perform this act.  Are we traveling in a path that leads in the wrong direction?  My heart was bruised when you left me.  I will need to find another to replace you.  Why is it that my heart feels so little this time.  I don't care for this one either.  The joy and the excitement is not there.  Lets try it in a different way.  Maybe I am not like others,  I am not feeling, quite right.  Where is my joy and fulfillment.  And another step of perversion is tried.  All of these leading to worse steps of sin and perversion.

In common are small initial steps.  In common is the sin of man and man's tendency to sin.  In common is a ruined life, a life that is a wreck.  A life that gave up all the good things in life for that small enticing thrill.  That is so short, yet guides strongly, and never is fulfilled or quenched.  One sip leads to another.  One drink leads to a bottle.  One Bottle leads to a binge.  Sin is never satisfied or filled.

The beginning of the Bible is common to the whole Bible.  Satan chose to not follow God.  A sinner who chose not to follow what is good.  A loving God who created all, but with man he gave a choice and his own will.  For on one hand, He wanted to show His love to the world, and at the same time sin must exist to show the opposite side.  From day one on this earth it has been a challenge of righteousness and unrighteousness.  A season for this to play through.  A time for all to make their choice.  An all knowing, Loving God, that knows how it will all play out:  Love wins in the end.

Many who sin, learned from others.  Many rapists, were raped.  Many drunks had an alcoholic parent.  Many who pervert sex, had someone who helped.  Some from an innocent age, not able to discern.  Many, who do not know how to love, were shown little or no love.

When does a child become a man.  When does a human being become accountable for his sins.  When do I cut you off and give you no more chance to turn from your sin?

Vengeance is mine says the Lord.  I will repay.

I am longsuffering, not willing that any will perish that all might come to a saving knowledge of Love.

I gave my Son,  My only begotten Son, for you all.  I know your sorrow, and I love you.  Trust in me.  Find peace in Me.  For there is not one sin that will not go unpunished.

For those who continue to walk away from Me.  Turn now.  Seek me and you will find me.  Today is the day of salvation.  All things will become new.  And I will again rejoice over you.

For those that do not turn and repent.  I will allow you to believe in the lie and the deception.  You will bow to my Son and declare He is King.  Then you will be cast into outer darkness for eternity, where there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.  Eternal darkness after seeing the light, and oh how great the light; And how great will that following darkness be.

Psalm 73

1 Truly God is good ..........,

To such as are pure in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;

My steps had nearly slipped.

3 For I was envious of the boastful,

When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there are no pangs in their death,

But their strength is firm.

5 They are not in trouble as other men,

Nor are they plagued like other men.

6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace;

Violence covers them like a garment.

7 Their eyes bulge with abundance;

They have more than heart could wish.

8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression;

They speak loftily.

9 They set their mouth against the heavens,

And their tongue walks through the earth.

10 Therefore his people return here,

And waters of a full cup are drained by them.

11 And they say, "How does God know?

And is there knowledge in the Most High?"

12 Behold, these are the ungodly,

Who are always at ease;

They increase in riches.

13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain,

And washed my hands in innocence.

14 For all day long I have been plagued,

And chastened every morning.

15 If I had said, "I will speak thus,"

Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children.

16 When I thought how to understand this,

It was too painful for me—

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God;

Then I understood their end.

18 Surely You set them in slippery places;

You cast them down to destruction.

19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment!

They are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 As a dream when one awakes,

So, Lord, when You awake,

You shall despise their image.

21 Thus my heart was grieved,

And I was vexed in my mind.

22 I was so foolish and ignorant;

I was like a beast before You.

23 Nevertheless I am continually with You;

You hold me by my right hand.

24 You will guide me with Your counsel,

And afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but You?

And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.

26 My flesh and my heart fail;

But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish;

You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God;

I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,

That I may declare all Your works.

Psalm 109

1 Do not keep silent,

O God of my praise!

2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful

Have opened against me;

They have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,

And fought against me without a cause.

4 In return for my love they are my accusers,

But I give myself to prayer.

5 Thus they have rewarded me evil for good,

And hatred for my love.

6 Set a wicked man over him,

And let an accuser stand at his right hand.

7 When he is judged, let him be found guilty,

And let his prayer become sin.

8 Let his days be few,

And let another take his office.

9 Let his children be fatherless,

And his wife a widow.

10 Let his children continually be vagabonds, and beg;

Let them seek their bread also from their desolate places.

11 Let the creditor seize all that he has,

And let strangers plunder his labor.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy to him,

Nor let there be any to favor his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be cut off,

And in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD,

And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15 Let them be continually before the LORD,

That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

16 Because he did not remember to show mercy,

But persecuted the poor and needy man,

That he might even slay the broken in heart.

17 As he loved cursing, so let it come to him;

As he did not delight in blessing, so let it be far from him.

18 As he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment,

So let it enter his body like water,

And like oil into his bones.

19 Let it be to him like the garment which covers him,

And for a belt with which he girds himself continually.

20 Let this be the LORD’S reward to my accusers,

And to those who speak evil against my person.

21 But You, O GOD the Lord,

Deal with me for Your name’s sake;

Because Your mercy is good, deliver me.

22 For I am poor and needy,

And my heart is wounded within me.

23 I am gone like a shadow when it lengthens;

I am shaken off like a locust.

24 My knees are weak through fasting,

And my flesh is feeble from lack of fatness.

25 I also have become a reproach to them;

When they look at me, they shake their heads.

26 Help me, O LORD my God!

Oh, save me according to Your mercy,

27 That they may know that this is Your hand—

That You, LORD, have done it!

28 Let them curse, but You bless;

When they arise, let them be ashamed,

But let Your servant rejoice.

29 Let my accusers be clothed with shame,

And let them cover themselves with their own disgrace as with a mantle.

30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth;

Yes, I will praise Him among the multitude.

31 For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor,

To save him from those who condemn him.

God is still on the throne.  Though our perception causes us to be weak.  Know that God loves us all.  And there is a special place in God's heart for the innocent.  Most importantly, there is a special place in God's heart for all children.

Mathew 18, 5-7

5Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

6"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

Luke 21:22

32Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 33Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

34"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Isaiah 61:2

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

Isaiah 59:17

18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,

Fury to His adversaries,

Recompense to His enemies;

The coastlands He will fully repay.

19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD

Isaiah 47:3

3 Your nakedness shall be uncovered,

Yes, your shame will be seen;

I will take vengeance,

And I will not arbitrate with a man."

4 As for our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name,

The Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 35:3-4

3 Strengthen the weak hands,

And make firm the feeble knees.

4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,

"Be strong, do not fear!

Behold, your God will come with vengeance,

With the recompense of God;

He will come and save you."

Nahum 1:

2 God is jealous, and the LORD avenges;

The LORD avenges and is furious.

The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries,

And He reserves wrath for His enemies;

3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power,

And will not at all acquit the wicked.

The LORD has His way

In the whirlwind and in the storm,

And the clouds are the dust of His feet.

4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry,

And dries up all the rivers.

Bashan and Carmel wither,

And the flower of Lebanon wilts.

5 The mountains quake before Him,

The hills melt,

And the earth heaves at His presence,

Yes, the world and all who dwell in it.

6 Who can stand before His indignation?

And who can endure the fierceness of His anger?

His fury is poured out like fire,

And the rocks are thrown down by Him.

7 The LORD is good,

A stronghold in the day of trouble;

And He knows those who trust in Him.

8 But with an overflowing flood

He will make an utter end of its place,

And darkness will pursue His enemies.

9 What do you conspire against the LORD?

He will make an utter end of it.

Affliction will not rise up a second time.

10 For while tangled like thorns,

And while drunken like drunkards,

They shall be devoured like stubble fully dried.

11 From you comes forth one

Who plots evil against the LORD,

A wicked counselor.

12Thus says the LORD:

"Though they are safe, and likewise many,

Yet in this manner they will be cut down

When he passes through.

Though I have afflicted you,

I will afflict you no more;

13 For now I will break off his yoke from you,

And burst your bonds apart."

14 The LORD has given a command concerning you:

"Your name shall be perpetuated no longer.

Out of the house of your gods

I will cut off the carved image and the molded image.

I will dig your grave,

For you are vile."

15 Behold, on the mountains

The feet of him who brings good tidings,

Who proclaims peace!

O Judah, keep your appointed feasts,

Perform your vows.

For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; He is utterly cut off.

Romans 12:19

19Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"says the Lord. 20Therefore

"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;

If he is thirsty, give him a drink;

For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Hebrews 10:30

30For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Jude 1:7

7as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Leviticus 19:18

18You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.

Ephesians 6:10

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The entire Gospel message of the Bible  is one of a deliverer.  One that loves us and protects us.  One that up holds the weak, the poor and the defenseless.  Though you do not perceive it.  It is true.  And the entire Bible is filled with stories of these mighty works of God.  Though, your faith may be weak due to a time of trial.  Rest assured.  God is merciful, love, a protector.  He is in place upon the throne.  Nothing passes with out His knowledge.  Not one bird falls to the ground with-out his knowledge.  How much more value is one life made in the image of God.  Your child was not forsaken.  God was fully capable to remove the Spirit from the flesh as He was able to place His Spirit within the flesh.  It may have been a last second saving, but rest assured.  The Lord was there, and took your child by hand.  And in the place where they reside,  there are no more tears, or pain.

Mathew 18:10

10"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

Mathew 10:

27"Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Mathew 6:26

26Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28"So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31"Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things

Daniel 5:23

......God who holds your breath in His hand.....

Job 34:14

14 If He should set His heart on it,

If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,

15 All flesh would perish together,

And man would return to dust.

Job 33:4

4 The Spirit of God has made me,

And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Job 32:8

8 But there is a spirit in man,

And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

Job 12:10

10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing,

And the breath of all mankind?

Genesis 2:7

7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Revelation 1:18

18I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Revelation 21:

4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

5Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."

6And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Psalm 4:4

4 Be angry, and do not sin.

Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.

Selah

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,

And put your trust in the LORD.

6 There are many who say,

"Who will show us any good?"

LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart,

More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;

For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 46

10 Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!

11 The LORD of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our refuge.

Mark 4: 39

39Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" 41And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"

Psalm 59

16 But I will sing of Your power;

Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;

For You have been my defense

And refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;

For God is my defense, My God of mercy.

2 Corinthians 12:9

9And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."

Isaiah 41:10

10 Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

11 "Behold, all those who were incensed against you

Shall be ashamed and disgraced;

They shall be as nothing,

And those who strive with you shall perish.

12 You shall seek them and not find them—

Those who contended with you.

Those who war against you

Shall be as nothing,

As a nonexistent thing.

13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand,

Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Psalm 145

14 The LORD upholds all who fall,

And raises up all who are bowed down.

15 The eyes of all look expectantly to You,

And You give them their food in due season.

16 You open Your hand

And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways,

Gracious in all His works.

18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,

To all who call upon Him in truth.

19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;

He also will hear their cry and save them.

20 The LORD preserves all who love Him,

But all the wicked He will destroy.

21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD,

And all flesh shall bless His holy name

Forever and ever.

Mathew 19:

13Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." 15And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Mark 9:36

36Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, 37"Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."

Mark 10:

13Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." 16And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

Luke 9:47

47And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, 48and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great."

Luke 18:16

16But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 17Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."

John 13:33

33Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
